Free sim cards are a great way to save on your mobile bill, particularly for low usage customers. People using their mobiles more often are more likely to benefit from sim only deals, meaning that you pay a monthly fee (starting at around £10 per month) which will get you an allowance of voice minutes, sms messages and internet use depending on the package. You still get free sim cards sent out to you, you are just committing to a minimum monthly spend (although some plans only require single month commitment).

Our current favourite is GiffGaff as they have very low call rates, and also offer the possibility to buy 'goody bags' which provide bundles of calls, texts and web use. This ultimately means even cheaper rates, making this choice the leader of the free sim cards.
